Relais LaChiusa sits outside the gates of Montefollonico where it stands guard over the hilltop village. Just 9 minutes away is the largest hilltop village in Tuscany, Montepulciano, and the ancient road connecting the two villages runs thru LaChiusa. In the 12th century LaChiusa was the guarded entrance and toll collector for Montefollonico, then in the 15th century it was transformed into an olive mill.

Today, it stands among fruit trees, flowers, vineyards, and olive groves…tranquil and quiet.

Expedia, May 2023:  In the middle of everything!  We found that La Chiusa was a perfect spot in the middle of everything. A relaxing & inviting environment with a picture perfect view! The rooms are amazing, We had a delicious meal at the restaurant with great service and the breakfast buffet was plentiful. The gardens and grounds are well maintained. We would definitely stay again and are recommending to others.
